Why was bonuz created? Whats the mission?
After getting my hands on Bitcoin's Whitepaper in 2016, I was immediately convinced by blockchain technology and its fundamentals. Back then, I was an entrepreneur, social media influencer, social media strategist, and growth hacker. I was so impressed that I reconsidered the field I was working in and started deep-diving into the realm of blockchain. It's been a journey of exciting highlights, some painful but valuable lessons, amazing people, and constant learning that continues to this day.
In Web2, brands and creators struggle to have genuine interaction, engagement, and personalized communication with their audiences. They don't own the content they produce, nor do they control their audiences. They constantly face identity theft, fake reviews, platform dependency, and countless other disadvantages.
My Vision with bonuz is to build the Human Layer—the missing standard between blockchains and people. We make self-sovereign identity, money, rewards, access, and reputation usable for normal humans and brands—not just crypto natives.
As I explained at EthCC 2025 (watch below), bonuz combines two core protocols with our wallet to provide a consumer-grade experience:
bonuz ID Protocol: portable, permissioned on-chain identity with social verification, attestations, and a user-controlled permission model
bonuz Engagement Protocol (DNFT): programmable passes, vouchers, memberships, tickets, and loyalty rails that brands can issue and users truly own
The bonuz Lifestyle Wallet brings this to life with seamless onboarding in under 45 seconds via social login—no seed phrases required. Users get self-custodial wallets, multi-chain support (EVM, Solana, Bitcoin), easy swaps, fiat on-ramps, and gas sponsored on bonuz core actions. It feels as simple as Web2, but users own everything.
With mainnet live since October 2024 on Base, a Hacken 10/10 audit, and backers like Google Cloud, NEAR, Biconomy, DMCC Crypto, Cypher Capital, and Crypto Oasis, bonuz is proven and scaling.
Future vision: bonuz evolves into a real-world operating system, cross-device and cross-platform compatible, integrating AR, GPS, and layers for blended digital-physical experiences. We plan to open-source our protocols so the entire planet can build on the Human Layer.
